While working in the professional marketing world in 2010, Clay volunteered to promote a show he was appearing in at a small theatre in Indiana. During that process he realized many of the marketing tools and tactics that are commonplace in a more “corporate” environment are either unknown or misunderstood in many small theatres. The week after that first show closed he began work on SoldOutRun where he has since accumulated years worth of blog posts and podcast episodes about what he’s learned in the process of translating his experience in the marketing world into the world of theatre.
